Product safety tests

To ensure the preservation of our products, we assess their antimicrobial protection through a challenge test. This test looks at how the product fights off microbes. We add microbes to the product and see how this contamination diminishes over time.

Stability tests

We check that the product remains stable over time: its colour, odour and appearance should not change.

The product is exposed to extreme thermal conditions thanks to climatic chambers. In some chambers, with temperatures between 40°C and 50°C, our product undergoes accelerated ageing. In other chambers, where temperatures vary regularly between -10°C and 40°C, our product is subjected to drastic changes. These tests ensure that our product remains of good quality as it travels around the world.

Safety and tolerance tests

In vitro tests

A world first: our research teams have developed a reconstituted baby skin model: Stelaskin®. Thanks to this patented Stelaskin® technology, our teams are able to reproduce and test the effect of different skin exposures on the different skin types of babies and children to assess the performance and tolerability of our products.

In vivo testing

We also assess the tolerability (absence of skin irritation and reaction) and sensitisation of our products on 100 adults.

Clinical tests

Once safety is assured, we test the product's safety and efficacy in real-life conditions: on a panel of infants and children (including babies under one month) or pregnant women, depending on the product. This is always done under the supervision of dermatologists and/or paediatricians.

Final validation by independent experts

As a final step, all our results are submitted to an independent expert toxicologist, outside the laboratories, who confirms that our products are safe. A safety report is then produced and made available to the relevant authorities in the event of an inspection. Without this document, our products cannot be placed on the market.
